After months of neglect: A NEW ENTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where to begin, where to begin..... Was seeing a rather wonderful lady, off and on, for several months, but that appears to be 'off' now. :( Marc's mother had some health problems so he didn't have to go to Iraq after all. It was great spending a lot of time at King Richards again. My faire burn-out period seems to be ending. :) Been feeling very artistically motivated of late. Been working a lot, and finally started putting comics on-line, something I've wanted to do for a long time now. You can see them if you go to Deviantart.com or Photobucket.com and search for aaronsynn, or go to MySpace and search for Al's Life (the name of the comic). Went to see my new great niece, Julia, out in NY. She's a doll. Already did my taxes for the year. (I'm very efficient that way. lol) Right now, I'm selling a whole bunch of stuff on EBay...So far I've made a couple of hundred bucks. My friend Paul is getting ready to head down to Florida for 7 weeks to do Renaissance Faires down there. It's going to be a nightmare for him. He's not used to having to do that kind of stuff all by himself. | | Saturday, September 16th, 2006 | | 8:33 pm |
Sorry, haven't been around here in abit....
Let's see... Works been kind of wearing on me lately. I know it's this way pretty much everywhere, but the overwhelming lack of common sense displayed by the big bosses is getting really annoying. Also in the news, the girl from work who took my cats ended up not being able to keep them. They just refused to socialize at all, and just stayed in hiding all the time. She ended up bringing them to a special cat shelter, where they will be able to stay together. I'm glad about that anyway. I hope things work out okay for the poor little guys. King Richards Faire is in full swing. I've been there every weekend so far. It's been really nice to see all my old friends. Marc's supposedly getting sent overseas in Dec, so he's trying to deal with a whole bunch of headaches related to that. His girlfriend's english bulldog, Stanley, is staying with us temporarily. He's a good dog, but he's kind of a slobbery, goofy mess. Ya can't help but fall in love with the little goon though. | | Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006 | | 6:55 am |
Good news
Good news: My nephew has Crohns disease. Now, I know what you're saying, 'that's good news?'. Well, considering we were all worried that he had some kind of cancer, finding out that it was all just a nasty side effect of Crohns seems like very good news. Everybodys relieved. | | Monday, July 24th, 2006 | | 12:14 pm |
Bad news....
Bad news: My nephew, Brendon, had emergency surgery Sat. night due to bad stomach pains. They found and removed a large 'mass', which took out his appendix and part of his intestine. They've got him all sewn back together, but they won't know what the 'mass' was for a few days. The doc said he hadn't seen anything like it before, and it's especially strange for someone as young as him (he's 26). His girlfriend has been really good throughout this. She's really upset, but she's trying to be strong and supportive for him. I just hope it's not cancer. And if it is, I hope it's not malignant. | | Wednesday, July 19th, 2006 | | 10:14 pm |
Update.
Living with my friend Marc now. Things are okay, but it takes some getting used to. Never lived with anyone but girlfriends before. | | Friday, June 2nd, 2006 | | 1:49 pm |
Wow! Two updates in one months time!
Hiya, I have finally found a good home for my cats. They'll be moving in with a couple I know and their two young daughters. I'm sure it will be rough on the cats at first, but I think it'll be good for them in the long run. They're good cats and I'll miss them, but I just can't keep them anymore with the current situation. :( | | Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006 | | 3:28 pm |
It's always darkest before the dawn...
Well... When last we left our hero, he was devastated by the unexpected and sudden dumping by Gerrie. Well, it was a rough couple of weeks, but my great friends were there to help me through it. Aside from that, things have been a bit hectic. It took over a month for Gerrie to get all her stuff out of the house, abandoning lots of her and her daughters stuff in the process and leaving a pretty big mess to clean up. The cleaning up was on a bit of a deadline as well, as I was trying to get the place ready for my new roommate, Marc, to move in. He needed to get his stuff moved in before leaving for a few weeks of Army Reserve duty. Thus, I was busting my butt for quite awhile, and I'm hurtin a bit from it. But things are settling down, and the future looks bright. | | Saturday, March 25th, 2006 | | 9:18 am |
Sorry I haven't updated in awhile.
Things haven't been too exciting here. Good news: My nephew and his new wife are having a baby. Yay! Good news: I won an art contest on Aint it Cool News.com. Horrible vile evil news: Gerrie has decided to move out. She says she needs to be alone for awhile to get her head together. We were supposed to get married in July. Now it's not happening. I don't know what to do. I'm a mess. I put my hand through a window, but that didn't really help. She says she wants to try and salvage this relationship (which, btw, I thought was doing fine) but I'm finding it difficult to be too optimistic about that. Later. | | Wednesday, December 28th, 2005 | | 9:04 am |
Happy Holidays...
Well, I hope everyone had a happy Christmas or holiday of choice. Mine was pretty low key, but nice. Things weren't feeling too Christmasy around the house. Gerrie and I were both beat from dealing with cranky Christmas customers, and the whole mess with Sam had us feeling less than jolly. She's still out of the house, and the few times Gerrie has spoken to her, she's been very cold and nasty. Unfortunately, her biological father is undermining our whole attempt at teaching her a lesson here. We had hoped that this whole having her move out thing would show her that A) Life isn't easy. B) You can't always have things your way, and C) The world doesn't revolve around what you want or don't want to do. But, her dad, in his continued attempt to buy affection, is catering to her every whim, and keeping her spoiled. Grrrr..... Anyway, me and Gerrie went out to dinner on Christmas Eve, then we went for a drive around looking at lights and decorations. Christmas day, we visited her folks, then went to my folks for dinner. It was really good, but there was far too much food. My mother had ordered a pre-made dinner, but at the time she thought that she was going to have a possibility of 10 people eating, and it ended up just being 4 of us. Oh, and their dog ate himself into oblivion. He could barely move by the end of the day. I got Gerrie this giant dragon mirror/sculpture thing she was in love with, but we have no idea where we can put it. It's meant to hang on a wall, but it weighs a ton, and would probably rip right off any of our walls. I also got her these ceramic Norman Rockwell village houses she wanted, and the newest series of dragon figures from McFarlane toys (Which are too close to art to really be considered 'toys') I ended up with money (always good), several DVD's I wanted, a cool computer program for cartooning, speakers for my MP3 player, gloves, a remote control holder thing, a Friday the 13th book, and the Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. AND....Yesterday, the 27th, was the fifth anniversary of me and Gerrie's first date. We didn't do too much in the way of celebrating, still pooped from Christmas, but it's been a wonderful 5 years. | | Thursday, December 8th, 2005 | | 4:40 pm |
Newest stuff....
Well, my nephew managed to get everyone together for Thanksgiving. We all went to my sisters house. Things were a little tense, but not too bad. Last Sunday we kicked Sam out. Although she admitted that we weren't asking much of her, and that nothing we asked was unreasonable, she just wasn't willing to go along with any of it. In that sense, this was her decision. She knew what she had to do to stay at the house, and she chose to do the opposite. Kicking her out was very hard on us, on Gerrie moreso. But we are hoping that this will end up being good for her. So, she's currently staying with her jackass boyfriend and his alcoholic mother. I don't know what she's going to do the first time she and the bf have one of their typical fights and he throws her out. Aside from that, there isn't much new. The Christmas season is getting into full swing, and it's pure misery. Tomorrow, we're expecting the first big snow of the season. Yay. | | Wednesday, November 9th, 2005 | | 1:02 pm |
A few things have been going on...
Well, things at home got rough enough that Gerrie and I almost kicked Sam out of the house. She promised to start following the rules if we let her stay, so she's on her final warning, as it were. We are really concerned about her though. She's still obsessed with her idiot boyfriend. No matter how much grief he causes her, or how mad she gets at him, within a couple of days she totally forgives him and goes back to thinking he's the greatest thing ever. *sigh* I tried to bury the hatchet with my sister. We've been having a bit of a feud the past few years and it's really messed up the holidays. She's still unwilling to let it go, though. I finally sold my Cadillac. I'll miss the old girl, but the guy I sold her to restores old Cadys, so I'm happy it's going to a good home. My new car, The Ford 500, is a great little car. I'm very happy with it. I picked up the first season of 'Alias' on DVD. I'd never watched the show before. It's very good! The Danvers State situation is looking grim. A judge ruled to allow the sale to go through. The preservationists are trying some new legal trickery now, saying that it was illegal to issue a demolition permit to the developers before they actually bought the property, but it's not looking too good. My petition is going to hit the 5000 mark anytime now. The cats are doing well, but they really hate my new 'Interactive R2-D2', as it seems to enjoy chasing them around the house. ;) | | Friday, September 30th, 2005 | | 10:29 am |
Hello all. Been a while
Hiya! Well, there haven't been many huge developments since my last post, but I figured I'd update this thing anyway. I just got a new car. It's a 2005 blue Ford 500 with all the bells and whistles. The huge interior is what really sold me on the car. Nowadays I barely fit in most new cars, and when my back/neck problems act up, I have a real hard time getting in and out of them. That won't be a problem with this one. So now my old car, the 91' Cadillac, is sitting in my back yard until I figure out what I'm going to do with it. It needs work, but it just seems to have too many good points to just junk it. Gerrie was gone for a few days at a convention for her work. She was in Vegas for four days. It was pretty lonely in the house without her. Tonight is the opening of the Firefly movie 'Serenity' and I cannot wait to see it. Things are looking up for old Danvers State Hospital. A law suit is being filed which should block Avalon Bay from being able to start demolition. (Yay!) My online petition definitely helped move this whole project forward, and if Danvers State is saved, I'll be pretty proud of my little contribution to saving local history. Best wishes to you all. | | Thursday, September 1st, 2005 | | 3:48 pm |
Been awhile....
Since I last posted. Things have been pretty standard. Gerrie and I went on vacation around the middle of August. It wasn't too exciting, more of a get some stuff done, and do some relaxing kinda vacations. I organized and sold off a bunch of old comics for a couple hundred dollars. Gerrie and I went down to visit Hammond Castle, the place where we got engaged. It's kind of sad though, the place is having all sorts of problems with it's insurance company, which is forcing them to block off different parts of the castle. I spent the last half of my vacation house and dog sitting for my folks, who were in NY for my nephews wedding. I would have liked to have gone, but there were just too many things in the way of it. His wedding, by the way, kind of delayed me and Gerrie from getting married. Now we're thinking of doing it next summer, and going out to the NY Renaissance Faire as a honeymoon. My 91 Caddy has been acting up something fierce, and for a couple of months we couldn't figure out what the problem was. Sometimes it would run fine, and other times it refused to start. My mechanic believed it to be a faulty fuel pump, which would have been very expensive to replace. Luckily, we finally figured out that it was just a problem with the ignition coil. Yay to $100 car problems! We went to see 'The 40 Year Old Virgin', which was easily the funniest movie I've seen in several years. We also went to see 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at the Jordan's IMAX cinema. Great theater, so-so movie. I'll take the Gene Wilder version anyday. Samantha, Gerrie's daughter, finally got a job. She'll be working at the local Barnes and Noble bookstore. Hopefully it will last and she'll like it. On a darker note, the destruction from Hurricane Katrina is incredible. It's hard to believe that the news footage is actually of America. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that had their lives turned upside down by that monster. | | Thursday, August 4th, 2005 | | 3:13 pm |
Update...
Well, the fight to save Danvers State is still going. Some folks are selling T-Shirts with the hospital on the front. I was interviewed by the Danvers Herald and the Salem Evening News about the petition. The Danvers Herald did a fairly neutral story, but the Salem paper, who I believe to be in the pocket of the developers, did a bit of a hack job on me. The petition itself has really taken off lately, with nearly 200 signatures in the past 15 days. Not much else new going on. Gerrie and I went to see 'The Fantastic Four', which wasn't bad. It wasn't a great film, but it was fun. I watched 'Alexander' last night. I thought it was good, but I can see where the depictions of homosexuality could have turned off a lot of people. Some folks would rather have 'comfortable' than 'accurate' in their depictions of history I guess. I ran into my old friend Eric Rodenheiser yesterday. He's constructed a beautiful little theatre in downtown Salem. He'll be using it to do shows about historic Salem in the Summer, and for a horror show in October. I've also been seeing a lot of my old friend Marc lately. He just recently broke up with his fiancee, and it's really been tearing the poor guy apart. This weekend, I'm planning a fun filled time of yard work. (Joy.) Oh, and my car's being evil. It's being extremely moody, running fine sometimes, refusing to start other times. I dumped in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner yesterday, and I'm hoping it will make a difference. I really can't see putting a lot of money into repairs for a 15 year old car. | | Saturday, July 2nd, 2005 | | 10:20 am |
Nothing to special to report...
Life's been plodding along. Each day, each week, just kind of blending into the next. Thus is the daily grind. I have been fighting a continuing battle against several nightshade vines in my yard. I'm reminded of Hercules battle with the Hydra. Every time I uproot one of these vines, it seems like 2 more take it's place. It's evil. It's also leaving me with a giant pile of dead vines in my yard that I'm not sure how I'm going to get rid of. Gerrie and I saw Batman Begins. I thought it was pretty good, which was a let down after hearing all the praise reviewers were heaping upon it. I wasn't crazy about this version of the Bat suit, or how Christian Bale looked in it. The film also used a filming/editing style that was supposed to make things look more 'realistic', and make the fights look faster and more viscious. They did get that effect, but it made it nearly impossible for the audience to see what was going on in the fights. We also saw 'Mr. and Mr.s Smith' which was a lot of fun. Not great, or mentally challenging, but fun. Tonight we're thinking of going to see 'War of the Worlds' which looks pretty good. There are just too many movies I want to see out in theatres right now. I was a bit interested in "Madagascar", as it looked pretty entertaining, but I'll have to wait on that one. I'll have to see 'The Fantastic Four' when that comes out next week, but I honestly don't have high hopes for it. At some point, I'm going to have to see "Land of the Dead" while it's still in theatres. Have to do my bit to support George Romero, father of the zombie film. Speaking of horror movies, the second edition of the 'Making Friday the 13th' book is out, which includes the close to microscopic mention of my name, thanking me for factual corrections to the text of the 1st edition. It's not much, but it's cool. The recent news I'm most excited about, though, is regarding my petition to save Danvers State Hospital. I received an email yesterday from a gentleman who hosts a Danvers State website. Apparently, he and some other interested individuals brought my petition to the attention of the Secretary of State (who is going to be running for governor). He was surprised and impressed by how many diverse individuals wanted the historic buildings saved. He is planning to visit the site and is looking into the possibility of protecting it from demolition. I still don't have very high hopes for the survival of the hospital, but this is the best news I've heard about it in a long time. All I can do is hope. | | Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 | | 3:59 pm |
Random Thoughts on Star Wars
My stream of consciousness rant on all things Star Wars (Spoilers) I have just seen the final Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith, and I was, for the most part happy with it. It answered a lot of questions, but also left open some plot holes big enough to fly a Star Destroyer through. Now, I’m a close to life long Star Wars fan. I was 10 when the first film came out, and I was hooked. I failed a science fair project because the teachers didn’t see special visual effects as a science. I had the cheapo lightsaber. I had each and every action figure. (Yes, including the ‘Yak Face alien’ figure, available only in Europe) Let’s get this out of the way right now, unlike many purists, I don’t hate the new films, or the special editions of the old films, but none of them hold a place in my heart like the original films. Meesa no haten Jar Jar Binks. Heesa annoying, but notsa as annoying asa people beesa always saying. Oh, and I don’t hate Ewoks, either. George Lucas has a lot of talent, but as a writer and director, he’s pretty limited. George Lucas is also a big liar. When the original films were being released, I read every article and interview that I could get my hands on about the films. At that time, Lucas was saying, often, that he was planning on having three trilogies, parts 1-3, parts 4-6, parts 7-9. Nowadays, he’s trying to deny ever saying it. Don’t make me dig through my parents basement to find those old magazines, George. I didn’t have any problem with Lucas doing the Special Editions of the original films. Some of the additions were cool. I don’t, however, like that Lucas is trying to keep people from seeing the films in their original states now. You made film history, dude, don’t be ashamed of it. What he might want to digitally replace, however, is that damn puppet Yoda from ‘The Phantom Menace’. That thing was horrible. It looked like something out of 'Crank Yankers’. One of Lucas’ biggest complaints about the original films was that he was unhappy with the aliens in the cantina. If that’s the case, I wonder why he reused so many of the masks from the cantina in the new films. Also, note to George, when you do the Super Special Editions, you can make the alien masks look much better by digitally enhancing their eyes. Make them blink and stuff. In answer to many of the criticisms against the newer films, Lucas said that both trilogies were made for children, and that the critics were children when they fell in love with the first films. Come on now, George. The first films did have a very fairy tale like quality to them. The good vs evil battle was fairly black and white. Simple story, likeable characters. I can see the appeal for children. Then we have the new films. Lots of politics, subtle manipulations, shades of gray everywhere you look. Toddler Jedi’s being slaughtered, living torsos burning up in lava. This is kid’s stuff, George? By the way, how small is this galaxy far, far away, anyway? It seems every human in this galaxy is either related to, or has had some kind of run in with, every other human in that galaxy. So, onto some of those giant plot holes. Many of these were created because, regardless of what Lucas says now, there’s no way in hell he had the first three films all planned out when he made the original trilogy. At the end of Sith, we see the Death Star being constructed. We also see Luke and Leia as babies. Does this mean it took them over 15 years to build that bad boy? Did they use the same construction crew as ‘The Big Dig’ in Boston? And if Sith is only 16 or so years before part 4, isn’t it odd that everyone seems to regard the Force as an ‘ancient religion’ when A) the Jedi were a big deal only 16 years earlier, and B) Their Emperor was a user of the Force. Here’s an idea, lets hide Luke from his father by giving him to his father’s half brother. And while we’re at it, let’s have Kenobi hang around and protect him….Until, of course the first time they run into each other and Kenobi invites Luke to go rescue the sister he’s not supposed to know about from the father he’s not supposed to know about. Ya know….I’m pretty sure that, since Artoo was flying all over the place in Sith, he probably could’ve found good times to take flight in the original series. Maybe Kenny Baker gained too much weight. And hey, let’s talk about Anakin getting put into the Darth Vader armour. Now obviously this was a medical procedure, and the armour is a life support system for extra-crispy Anakin. Yet, in the midst of this medical procedure they took the time to put his big black cloak on. Was there an episode of ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Sith’ being filmed? Did the Emperor tell the medical droids “Save him, and make him FABULOUS!” Personally, I think it was a mistake to use so many famous actors in the new films. It was much better in the original films when they used a cast of mostly unknown actors. When you see an actor you know, you automatically associate certain things with them. Thus, it was easy to think of Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, but when you see Natalie Portman, you think of her other roles. It’s even worse if it’s an actor with a colorful personal life, because then you think of that as well. Can anyone ever really separate the roles Angelina Jolie plays from her real life persona? And what’s up with Grand Moff Tarkin? What makes him such a badass? Every other imperial officer wets themselves whenever Vader is near, but Tarkin seems to have no problem bossing Vader around, and even threatening him. Lucas needs to digitally replace Jake Lloyd in The Phantom Menace. Viewing Revenge of the Sith has changed the experience of viewing part 4. In part 4, Luke asks Kenobi to tell him what happened to his father. A look flashes across Kenobi’s face, then he procedes to tell Luke some B.S. Originally, that look that flashed across his face seemed like “He’s thinking of a painful memory.”, now it seems like “He’s thinking, ‘What line of bull can I feed this kid”. In Sith, when Kenobi, Anakin, R2, and Palpatine are captured by the big grasshopper, Gen. Grievous, R2 demonstrates a previously unseen ability. Apparently, R2 comes with a ‘Go completely ape-shit’ command. Is it just me, or, of all the main characters, does R2 know more of the whole story than anyone else? Jedi Knights… They can deflect a bazillion laser bolts fired by battledroids. BUT as soon as the cloneys got their order 66, the Jedi’s go down faster than Angelina Jolie on the set of ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’. Boba Fett: Toughest guy in the universe or punk taken out by a blind guy with a stick. That Bird/Horse thing in Sith made a really annoying noise. That big green bug monster in the arena in ‘Attack of the Clones’ also made a really annoying noise. And it’s teeth were too clean and white for a monster. Also in ‘Clones’, shouldn’t Jango Fett’s head have plopped out of his helmet when little Boba picked it up? The Wookie city must smell really bad when it rains. What would be cooler: Choking people from a distance, or shooting lightning out of your fingertips? The Wookie city looks much nicer now than it did in the Star Wars Christmas Special. | | Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 | | 6:23 am |
Just a little thought on stationary bikes...
You know, I would have liked one of those stationary bikes to exercise with... The only problem is, that's all I wanted. Yep, one bike frame, one wheel, on a base that kept it from going anywhere. The type of stationary bike that our ancestors used. But noooooooooooooo.... I went out searching for one of those bad boys, figuring that I'd pay somewhere around $120. I didn't know that they were extinct. All that you can find in the stores now are these $300.+ Star Trek props which somewhat resemble bikes. All I wanted was to sit around pedaling away the pounds. I don't need a bike to tell me my heart rate, or my blood pressure, or my fat ratio, or what marriage Jennifer Lopez is on. I don't need a bike with built in air conditioning and MP3 players. Next thing you know, they'll be putting motors on the damn things and people will just sit there, forgetting that the purpose of the damn thing is to pedal. Yay progress. Grrrrrrr.... | | Monday, May 16th, 2005 | | 10:56 am |
Hi, I'm the new 38 year old Mike....
Well, yesterday was my birthday, and it was a good one, spent with family and friends. I scored some cash, a DVD, a video game, and a bottle of Coke. :) I got to spend some time with my two nephews, both of which I'm very proud of. Lenny is working in a high end position at J. P. Morgan in NY. Brendon is next in line to run the local division of a large private investigation company. Then, last night, my friends Paul and Chris came over to visit. Paul's birthday is today. We ended up watching movies until about 1, so I'm kind of dragging today. Last night was also Paul's first time seeing the new cats. Upon seeing Buddy's strangely long tail, Paul decided that he must be part lemur. What else is new...Hmmmmm.... Well, Samantha is still driving us insane with her dimwit boyfriend. We have now had three weekends which seem to start with her, in tears, cursing his name and the names of all his ancestors, wishing him all sorts of bodily harm. This is followed, usually only a few hours later, by the two of them walking into the house, the boyfriend once again safely in the 'Most Wonderful Guy in the Whole History of the Universe' category. Oh, last Weds. morning, the weather was very pleasant, I had a few hours free, and I stumbled upon one of the undeniable signs of old age.... I was excited to have a good chance to pull weeds and mow the grass.... Sigh. It's all down hill from there. Sooooo....I had a sleep study done last week. The doc wanted me checked for sleep apnea. For those of you who haven't had this fun little experience, allow me to enlighten you... After filling out some paperwork regarding your sleeping habits, you are lead to a small room, which greatly resembles a clean but otherwise cheap motel room. As I did not look under the fitted sheet, I am not sure if the bed was made of granite or of hardened oak. After unpacking and getting into my sweats, a sleep tech guy comes in. He informs me that, once the test starts, if I need to use the bathroom, it will involve a half hour of unhooking me and a half hour of hooking me back up again. I instantly regret everything that I had eaten in the previous 24 hours. So I lay down on this sheet covered slab and the tech commences wiring me up like a marionette. When he's finished, there are 8 wires stuck to my head, there are two wires stuck to my chest and two stuck to my legs (I should say stuck to the HAIRS on my chest and legs) and there are two plastic tubes stuck up my nose. I am then told to try and 'sleep normally'. The only person who could possibly sleep normally during this thing would be Pinocchio. I feel like Spider-Man has webbed me to the bed. I make a valiant attempt at sleeping, which is disturbed only whenever I move at all, resulting in sharp pains as the wires stuck to my chest and legs yank hairs out of me. The results of the test will be sent to my doctor, who will discuss them with me later. I'm looking forward to his observation that 'I don't seem to be sleeping well'. Okay, while writing this, I have decided to spend a bit of my birthday money on an indulgence: One of those little things that look like bicycle pedals and you put in front of a normal chair for exercise. I need to drop some poundage. Over the past several years, I appear to be developing a John Goodman/Jim Belushi kind of physique. It could be worse. I would much rather be John Goodman fat than the poor people that just become round, like rubber balls with heads kind of fat. When I was younger, I kept in pretty good shape with lots of walking, bike riding and karate. Now, I'm pretty much screwed, exercise wise, by my screwed up back, hips and knees. If I go bike riding or hiking now, and one of those things gives out mid voyage, I'm kind of screwed. So, I figure sitting in front of the tube, pedaling away, is a fair alternative. If my knees give out, I just stop, and I'm still comfy in front of the TV. Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print. Peace. | | Thursday, March 31st, 2005 | | 3:35 pm |
Finally Updating...
Hello again. There haven't been too many happenings lately. The big thing that's been going on is an uphill battle with Samantha. She's become horribly obsessed with her boyfriend-du-jour, to the point of not wanting to do anything but hang around with him. She dropped out of school, and has made minimal effort to find a job. We've tried everything to get her off her butt but nothing seems to work. We've been forced to pull the 'If you haven't found a job by your 18th birthday, you're out' card. Hopefully we won't have to play it. The cat's are growing up quickly. They're both semi-affectionate and complete spazzes. For Easter, my folks took Gerrie and I to Victoria's Station in Salem. They had a nice buffet going on and we ate well. Signing off for now. Hope you're well. | | Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005 | | 4:06 pm |
Greetings!
I just joined this Live Journal thing, and have almost no idea what I'm doing, or what this site is capable of. Hopefully, I'll figure out how to make it look all spiffy soon! But for now, this is going to be the place where I post updates on my life, and perhaps some random thoughts. Welcome to all! |
